We don't hate them. We get disgusted with mac snobs that act like they're cooler than windows users, and, quite frankly, they're fun to make fun of because mac users really don't know much about computers. They can parrot the phrases they hear, like "more secure" but it's phrases like "make you want to lick it" (used to describe the new interface--and yes, that really happened--at some Apple event, spoken by some high ranking Apple exec; I don't know if it was Jobs or someone else, I read it and almost threw up and never bothered to remember who it was) that really keep me from taking it seriously. I work in a media-based industry, so we have a LOT of mac users. But the policy is if you want a mac you need to have a job that includes working with software that won't run on a PC. Mac service is too expensive, and Office vacuums on a mac. If you only know Office on a mac, you won't have a clue what I'm talking about, but Office on a mac was designed to be as cutesy as all the other programs with no serious calculation intention. Mac runs FinalCut and stuff like that, like a champ; Windows couldn't handle it, but that may be changing with Win7, but FinalCut will never, ever be written for Windows. But Photoshop runs fine on Windows, and Audacity and other music editing software runs fine on Windows. Video stuff has to be done with Mac right now. And mac users really don't want to know anything about computers. They can't be bothered to try to listen when you try to explain why something is the way it is, they just want you to make it the way they want it to be. I use a mac. I use Linux. I use Windows Vista, XP, 2000, and 98. Eventually I'll have 7 but missed the boat on all the great deals. Right now none of our macs can print but all our pc's can. So "macs just work?" Yeah, right.
