youtube videos can't be imported to imovie more often, they are usually .flv ,you need a flv to imovie converter for mac.in fact ,the programme which i always adopt is a good video converter for mac, common video ,google video and youtube video can both be well dealt with.

To my experience, youtube videos are usually flv format, it is not mac suitable video format. so i think you need to convert the videos to imovie mov or mp4 formats. I always use a software to do this job, very well to use, maybe you can try:

Hope you resolve your problem asap!

boot into windows using mac bootcamp.

then this will help you.... Use 'zillatube'. This is the easiest (and also the fastest) way.

Zillatube produces mpg/mp3 video or sound formats from youtube that are compatible with windows movie maker(or windows media player), and more. Also for high quality conversion, use vcd mode to get good quality mpg file.

Just get those clips you want , save & convert them, and then mix/match with pix/sound/etc using windows movie maker(included in your windows machine) to create new masterpieces..

It is very easy to download and convert videos. Then edit those converted mpg videos with windows movie maker.

It works very well - http://www.zillatube.com
