You need to clear space? Download Disk-Inventory X. It gives you a graphical representation of your hardrive. If it is RAM you are trying to free up, then don't have any applications running "Except Finder" while you play it. Are you using OS 9 or 10? Still need help? Feel free to IM me. Good luck with that!

Download:

Monolingual (free)
http://monolingual.sourceforge.net/

to clear all language localizations (except for the languages you use, of course) which will quickly recover as much as 1GB.
DO use it to remove language localizations.
DO NOT use it to remove anything else, especially other architectures, such as PowerPC code! I've heard from several folks that doing so messed up their Macs.

However, the best thing to do would be to get a new external hard drive, and offload a lot of stuff from your internal hard drive onto it. Once you are sure that you have all of your stuff safely offloaded, you can erase it from the internal drive and free up a lot of space.

If you keep on running your Macintosh with a too full a hard drive, you risk flaky behavior and data loss. See:
